Days 55 & 56

Day 55, February 24/09
Emma made a book at school and brought it home today. The teacher took the photos and printed out the sheets, and Emma & Cameron made up the story. It's called "The Mad Grebigol" (pronounced "grab-a-goal). She was quite serious about it, so I tried hard not to laugh:
"The Grebigol was a egg.
The Grebigol hatches.
The Grebigol chases him."

On the last page, it says "The Grebigol bites him." That is actually a funnier photo....

My letter from Emma. Just in case, it says:
"I love you Mom and Dad. I love you Sophia too! I love evre (*every) oan (*one) in my famly! And Lily too! And I love you"
I thought it was pretty sweet. And, fun that she's discovered the joy of the exclamation point.

Sophie is loving the puzzles lately. But she has to be in her chair (with her seatbelt on) to play. Because she's quirky like that!

These are the M&M's brownies that I made for Emma to take to Valentines Party at school. The smelled very yummy. I may have tried one, just to make sure that they're edible.

This is the craft Emma and I purchased on our Emma-Mommy day. We bought the circle and the E and all the stickers. So, she made hers today. We bought the stuff for one for Sophie as well.. not sure if Sophie or Emma is going to make it.

Bought a new album to put my 365 photos in during my Emma-Mommy afternoon. I had wanted to buy this scrapbooking kit that was designed for the 365 Project, but it is out of stock, and there's no indication as to when/if it will be available. But, the creator of the kit posted the journaling pages and "week of" pages as jpeg images on her blog, so I downloaded them and printed them out. It's not the perfect solution, but I think I'm ok with it.

Days 36 & 37

Day 36, February 5/09
Today was Emma's field trip to the Frink Centre. It was also super cold out, about -21. So, I bundled her all up. Which was fine, and she wasn't "too cold" at the Centre.
Then when they got back to school, they had indoor recess in the afternoon, because of the weather. The priorities seem a bit skewed there, to me.


Day 37, February 6/09
"And then he punched me in the nose!"
I guess I'll have to send a note to the teacher for Monday... (she had left the school by the time I heard this particular story). Leave it to my kid to pick a fight with the biggest kid in her class.
(He did apologize to her, if you're wondering. And, "The Boyfriend" gave her a hug because she was crying. So it didn't turn out all bad.)

Emma seems... upset... about whatever is happening on Mario Kart. Outraged, even.

Sophie after bathtime, in her new robe. Shane said it's a cow. I said it's a poodle with pretty eyelashes. Sophie said "I not a cow!", so I won.

This was the best of my many, many, many tries to get a photo of both girls peeking through the finger puppet stage. It was not meant to be. Apparently, two year olds can NOT stand still.

"Go Leafs Go!" I guess my children are magic, because the Leafs actually pulled one out tonight. Although, they almost DIDN'T. A couple of times.

Happy Birthday Dad/Papa!

I got inspired by my friend Alison's blog. She was just married in November, and has taken some awesome photos of her wedding rings, one of which was featured on a wedding blog. So, I made Shane give me his and put both of ours in our cake topper... and voila. This is the one I liked the most. It's not GREAT, but I like it!
