Day 232 (b), August 20/09

So, after a lovely, bright, sunny afternoon, the skies opened up and we had a gigantic storm, complete with tornado watch & warning. This is the best of the photos I took of the lightning.



Day 235, August 23/09

Emma & Shane played Giggle Wiggle. They only lost one of the marbles, which is quite the achievement. And, I'm sure we'll find the marble sooner or later. Or the vaccuum will..

Karlie came over today for the evening. We had pizza for dinner, and then watched the Hannah Montana Movie. The girls are doing the Hoedown Throwdown.

Day 241, August 29/09

Had a busy day today, at Build-A-Bear in August, and then an attempt at the drive-in... so I almost forgot (again). Here's Molly. If you call her name, she tilts her head, it's pretty cute.

Day 242, August 30/09

Here is Emma's new Build-A-Bear creation; a dog she has named Kelsey. Kelsey is sporting a leopard print top with a black jean skirt. She also has matching leopard print shoes. Sophie was less than cooperative about the photo taking today, but she got an orange & pink tie dye bear that is wearing a ballerina dress. She named her bear, aptly enough.... Ballerina Bear.

Days 227-232

Well, missed a bunch of days again. In my defence, I took SO many photos in Niagara Falls, that I was put off a bit...

Day 227, August 15/09

Day 228, August 16/09
These flowers grow on a vine at the side of our house. Bill & Goldie put up some lattice, and now it's growing up & around. No idea what they're called, though, but they are a nice colour.



Day 232, August 20/09
Emma has been at Quinte West Day Camp this week, and it's held at Trenton High School. Every day when we drive there to drop her off, we drive by this little market, and beside the market is a field of sunflowers. Since I was off today, Sophie & I stopped to take some photos.

Day 221, August 9/09
We arrived at Niagara Falls! After checking into the hotel, we took a walk down to the Falls. Emma went on a photo taking frenzy!


Day 222, August 10/09
Two photos for today! Here is Sophie on the Skywheel. It was a HUGE hit with both girls, but especially with Sophie. She still hasn't stopped talking about it!


In the afternoon, we went to the Butterfly Conservatory. We were only there about 2 minutes before Sophie started screaming her head off (we really should have known better...). Emma and I stayed to look around while Shane & Sophie made their way to the gift shop... Emma had worn her butterfly hat, thinking that the butterflies on it would attract a REAL butterfly. Looks like she was right!

Day 223, August 11/09

Everyone loves Marineland! We had left this adventure for our last day because the weather was supposed to be bad on Monday... but then it was ok on Monday, (if a "bit" humid), and it called for thunderstorms Tuesday... But it was our last day, so we were going whether it was raining or not! As it turns out, the weather was perfect for the whole time we were there...

The girls loved watching the beluga whales from the underwater viewing area. They were excited to see the two baby belugas. They were awfully cute!

Days 215-219

Day 215, August 3
Happy 35th Anniversary Mom & Dad!
They are having a party on the 8th, and decided to take the girls out for lunch today. They were so excited to stick their heads out the sunroof of the Beetle!

Day 217, August 5/09
A pretty flower in our back garden... as you can see, whenever I "forget" to take a photo, I go to the garden!

Another flower... I think it's an African Daisy? It's in the front garden.

More front garden flowers... I really ought to Google these before I post them... and try to sound like I actually know something about gardening! Which I don't...

Days 200-212

Ok, so I've failed miserably for the month of July... the project completely got away from me, and I missed a TON of days... I'm not beating myself up about it, I'm just going to do better for August... even though I've missed the first two days. In my defence, we spent the ENTIRE day in the car yesterday.... and today was not a great day either. So, I'll try to do better... starting tomorrow.

Tracey, Carmen & Connor came over for dinner today, so that we could give Carmie her birthday present. We will be away the weekend of her actual party.

Will we ever have a day where it DOESN'T rain?? This has got to have been the wettest July we've had in a long time!

Happy Wedding Day, Lori & Stuart! It was a lovely wedding, with a LOT of food! We had a great time.
